Giuliani’s Studies

The 24 Esercizi per la chitarra, Op. 48, by Mauro Giuliani (1781–1829), with sheet music and tab to download.

Mauro Giuliani (1781–1829), the great Italian guitarist and composer of Vienna, gathered in the 24 Esercizi per la chitarra, Op. 48, short studies that each tackle one difficulty: fast scales, position changes, slurs, arpeggios, chords and articulation. They are published one by one, in the order of the edition.

The notes, slurs and fingerings come from the edition by Stefan Apke (2026), published on IMSLP under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license. This adaptation, with its tablature, is shared under the same license.

The tablature was generated by algorithms. Although we review it by hand, you may find an error. It may differ from Apke’s fingering: it keeps the edition’s slurs and left-hand fingerings, but not its string numbers or position marks.
